Hi guys, anyone can help me plz, i had lost my DVDROM in mac book pro,
I got external DVD drive with firewire, installed Bootcamp ,when computer restart it dosnt start installing windows,it just blackscreen with blancking courser any idea plz?

What version of Windows did you try and install?

Try holding alt when it restarts and see if you can choose OS X.

If it doesn't work, you might have to buy Leopard since your OS X DVD is lost.

im trying to install windows xp sp2 , i held alt and the bothe apear OS and the windows CD ,when i choose the CD it come black screen with blinking cursor not more.....

As the disclaimer states on the Bootcamp webpage, not all of the hardware on the Mac will be made accessible to your Mac when starting with Windows. So your FireWire port may not be accessible to the Mac when setting up windows. I'm pretty certain that's what the Mac drivers disc is for. It might be that you need to use the built-in CD/DVD drive in your Mac and you shouldn't have any problems. This was definitely my experience when I tried to install Windows on Bootcamp using my Bluetooth k/b .... that was dumb
