    Hi

    have a slight problem.

Brought an IBOOK. we have cameras at shops of ours and the DVR is not software compatible with Mac.

I was told by using Boot Camp l can run a MSoft operating system.

I then purchased a XP disc and am trying to run it.
It has downloaded all info and now l just get a screen with
press any key to boot from cd.

    next line says
    Disk error

    then
press any key to restart, witha flashing dash

nothing happens when a key is pressed and l cannot get the xp disk out.

Have l done anything wrong, as l am not 100% computer literate.

    Please help

You can get the XP disc out by holding the mouse button when starting the computer. Just turn it off first and hold the trackpad button down when rebooting.

You can also try interrupting the boot process by holding the option key on startup, waiting for the disc and the hard drive icons to appear on the gray background, then holding the eject key. Also, by the way, your computer can't run Boot Camp. Boot Camp requires an Intel processor which an iBook lacks. So while you can install 10.5 possibly on the system, you can't create a Boot Camp partition to house the XP installation.

Start running Boot Camp from within Mac OS X before using the XP CD.

It's a program called "Boot Camp Assistant", and it can be found in /Applications/Utilities

If the XP disc gave an error, you might want to get it replaced with a good CD. You can try again, now that you know how to get it out if it fails.

Alternatively, you could try running Windows from within Mac OS X - it's called virtualization and you can try a free version called VirtualBox.
