Help Posting a Photo

Try exporting it by size: example 1600 pixels on the longer edge. That usually helps.

Yeah, needs to be under 10MB.

Not sure of LR, but in Photos = Command - Shift E on the image you want to export. Choose Custom for Size:

Lr likely has a similar process. I haven't used it in a long time.

Photos in Ventura didn't have the option (at least I couldn't find it) to do a Custom size on the export. the only way I was able to get a different size was to email it to myself and select the size from there. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a better option - I'll keep looking.

Photos in Ventura didn't have the option (at least I couldn't find it) to do a Custom size on the export. the only way I was able to get a different size was to email it to myself and select the size from there. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a better option - I'll keep looking.

Preview app has a quick and dirty resize tool from the Menu->Tools if it helps 😉

In the Export dialogue box there are spots to limit both file size and dimension. For posting on the web, I typically specify a pixel width and it is almost always sized appropriately for upload, but you can play around in these sections to get resolution you want.

If you use Photos and do an export, the initial pop up will be minimal, but if you expand it out, you’ll get the options to resize.
