Hey!

First off, thanks for taking a quick minute to read this. My power button on my iPhone 4 is broken, but the good news is it is jailbroken.

Is there an app in Cydia that I can add an icon to lock my phone or in a way using activator? To bypass my power button.

Thanks for any feedback!

I use the 'pinch homescreen' option in Activator to turn off phone. Works great and its pretty slick.

Do you happen to live in Las Vegas?

If your power button is broken, how will you turn it back on after you turn it off via gestures?

That turns on a phone? Seriously? Well guess i've learnt something today. 😀

Edit:

Ok I just re-read what the OP was asking, to LOCK the phone, not turn it off. Hah.

You can power on a phone with a broken button by plugging it in...

Why not have the phone exchanged?

Mine is just fine. But I know that if this issue would happen to me I would not exchange it until th 4.2.1 jailbreak was out for all. I currently have my shsh on file for my current phone all the way back to 4.0.1. I am Jailbroke running 4.1, I would be very annoyed if I had to go stock again, because of all the stuff I purchased on cydia and the increased useability I get with it jailbroken. So I understand why he is looking for the workaround.

I agree, I would also wait for the untethered 4.2.1 JB to replace it but I wouldnt get stuck with it past that if Im still under warranty😉

Wait until the 4.2.1 JB is stable and tested, then go to apple and get it fixed...there's no way they'll refuse to replace a broken power button.
