help! powerbook g4 starts up with chime but blank screen!

    Has anyone had this issue? It starts up with a chime but the screen is off and the keyboard isn't functional. I hear the fan running as well. This happened randomly and I'm just wondering if it's worth fixing or not.

    Try plugging it into an external display and closing the lid. Shoud tell you if you have a dodgy screen. The 'Chime' means all your hardware is good, so it's not all bad.
