I’m in urgent need of a way to export my last 2 years of text history between me and just one other person. Is there an app you all would recommend for that, or another process? Everything I’ve googled hasn’t worked. The help would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of screenshots.

What do you mean on a Mac? I’m trying to get the messages from my cell phone without having to do screenshots. It took me two hours to go back 6 months and then I didn’t hit the screen right and it sent me back to the bottom/most recent to start all over agin.

Easiest way on iPhone would be to select a msg, click on more, select multiple message and forward that way you can copy whole conversation but you would have to start from bottom each time ( depending on the limit on msgs you can select)

Just that. Here is a Copy/Paste from Messages to Notes.

If you have a Mac, you can have Messages on the Mac just as you can your iOS devices.

Then you can copy/paste onto a document.

On a mac though, you would have definitely needed to login to your iCloud account on Messages and had Text Messaging Forwarding on your iPhone turned on if these were SMS. The best solution would be what the post above suggested, iExplorer or similar Mac App, or screenshots.

PhoneView is another Mac app I’ve used previously that can do this, but it’s paid.

Glad you got it sorted. Apple doesn’t always have the best or easiest solution for things like this.

Thank you for all the responses. I ultimately tried Iexplorer and it worked perfectly. Much quicker than scrolling through 16,000 messages.
I use iexplorer myself and its wonderful. I export entire threads and move that PDF file into icloud drive for access anywhere anytime. Its always worked beautiful for me and its worth the price

Wanting to preserve years of texts on iPhone, I just went to the App Store to check on iExplorer and found that all of the recent reviews (less than 2 years at least) are absolutely dismal. I'm saving my $5 for another alternative, if one exists. (Not a Mac user.) It shouldn't be this hard.

its not on the app store on mac...

^^^Correct. Same program name, totally different developers, programs.

Add: iMazing also will allow you to print your Messages. And other device admin functions.
