Help! Problems with Touch ID and Voice Control

Hi guys this is seriously frustrating. I just set up my new iphone 6 with Touch ID. The first time it worked fine. Now every time I use it, my print is recognized but I'm automatically taken to siri instead of my home page. When I disable siri I am taken to the voice control instead. Why is this happening? I just want to go straight to my home page once my print is recognized. Please tell me this isn't some kind of defect since I'm in a foreign country and replacement would be a nightmare. 🙁

You are not supposed to hold the home button down to unlock it.
Just tap the home once and leave your finger on to unlock it. Do not hold the button down.
