try booting up in safe mode by holding vol up + power. And if you restore your device, you will lose you jb btw.

as said by the previous user, while it is booting up, holding the volume up key. If you are able to gain access to your phone, go into cydia and uninstall this new keyboard you installed

Wow thanks for quick res. It's stuck on apple. Won't turn off. I tried holding home and power reboots, tries to boot jb with alternate boot logo then back to apple. Holding power and v up does nothing as it is currently booting.

hold the home and power button until your device shuts off. afterwards, press the power button and hold the volume up button at the same time. once you see the apple logo, let go of the power button but continue holding the volume up button until it gets to your lock screen. If it's been 1-2 minutes at the apple logo while holding the volume up button, that's way too long

are you still stuck at the apple logo?

edit: btw, what idevice are you on?

It's one of the only keyboard tweaks on cydia for ipad it's simply called black keyboard (ipad users beware) and I installed it last night. It came up in winter board theme settings.??

I installed the tweak, went to find it in my settings, found it in winter board, applied it, the ipad resprung. But never came back lol. *** me!

Anyone know how to restore from backup while ipad is still pass code locked?
I can always rejailbreak.

that's strange, you should be able to boot up in safe mode if it's a winterboard theme

btw, winterboard causes a respring, not a reboot so how did you get to that apple logo in the first place?

It resprung, but never finished loading. Then went to apple logo.

Don't know if it was a winter board theme but it came up there so.

if trying to boot up in safe mode by holding that volume up key does not work, then your only resort would be to restore

if you are ready to give up the jailbreak, then you can restore by putting your ipad into DFU mode

I can rejailbreak ifi stay at 6.0. I backed up to it tunes right before I jail broke.

But it says my device is locked with a pass code. And won't execute.

If it restore from a backup will it force an update?

if you are stuck at the apple logo, i don't think you can restore from a backup because itunes won't recognize it in a usable state. it'll just say that it has detected your device in recovery mode.

restoring from a backup will not force an update

edit: this might help you remove the passcode: http://www.ifans.com/forums/threads/lost-password-how-to-reset-with-ssh.245764/

use iFunBox to connect to your ipad file system (SSH is not an option since you need to be connected to the wifi network to use that)

you could try googling before you actually perform the steps to remove the passcode just to make sure it is the right steps

It recognizes it. And let's me restore from backup. But it's locked with a pass code and won't restore while locked. And I can't unlock it because it won't boot.

I'll check it out.

I don't think restoring from backup will allow you to get to springboard

Btw, I checked our black keyboard and it said "NOT COMPATIBLE WITH IOS5" in the description and if you look at the release date, it was in the year 2011 which meant that it was meant for iOS 4

Next time, be careful with what you install. Disabling mobile substrate should have done the job by means since themes using winterboard rely on mobile substrate. Really strange it did not

It's a shame you weren't able to get your jailbreak back :(

Maybe holding the power and home button to reboot could mimic rebooting?

Edit: just noticed you restored :(. I think the next jailbreak will come out in 9-12 months if iOS 7 is released in the summer
