Last night me and my fiancee was very very lucky to narrowly miss a 50MPH head on crash with a white van.

Thankfully my quick reactions meant I only had a damages door mirror!

An on coming van tried to overtake the vehicle in front of them.
They tried to over take on a corner!

I was able to get far enough over that they only hit my mirror with his.

It has been reported to the police and they would like to charge the driver...
However only if i can recover his plate details from my dash cam.

It is a blurry both front and rear camera, possibly due to the low sun and camera struggle to deal with lighting conditions.

Not gonna hold my breath and very doubtful to get anything but anyone here have any recommendations?

Glad you are safe. You can only see what is there, sure it can be enhanced a bit but..

import into VLC, grab some still frames and try to enhance those PNG images using preview, photoshop or whatever you have. Contrast, sharpness, saturation etc controls may be useful.

it is a 1080p res but to be fair looks more like 320 or worse!

thing is this camera was great at beginning and compared it with an old video which is crystal clear.

I dont think there is enough detail to clean it enough after trying a few programs.
As you say you cannot create detail.

Quick screen shot from the video. As you can see far too blurred to do anything with.

Yes it is an austin princess, 1972 vanden plas princess.
One of only three made in this particular configuration. Only two known to still exist today.
It's currently in lots of bits though lol.

Yup, it's far too pixellated.

A girlfriend of mine had a Princess, back in 77 I think it was, she drove it like a maniac. Leather seats & walnut dash iirc, very cosy! I recognised it immediately, very nice car.

not yet driven mine.

mine 1300 with auto box

took it home and took to bits, was running when we got it btw.
mine has limeflower green interior. seats and carpets lol

I also have a 1969 riley elf and a 1966 austin 1100, again neither are in one piece

I given up on the video.
despite 1080p it really crap but then for £26 what did I expect.
but older vids much clearer so the cmos sensor must be bad one and failing.

new camera going in car weekend anyway.
