Yeah so, it might be conspicuous, it might be a coincidence, or it might:rolleyes: just be my stupidity, but i downloaded this program called ilok tiger reset which was supposed to 'fix' certain audio unit demos so they wouldn't have to be registered.

The program told me to fix my permissions and then enter my password and (even though I had this funny feeling not to, which of course I outright ignored) I went ahead and let it do its thing.

The program then went on a super spree, deleting who knows how many files, invisible and not, from my various folders. Afterwards, garageband and audio hijack would reffer me to the PACE anti-piracy site, saying I needed to download and install their interlok extension installer, and then, after opening up the site, would crash closed.

I went on ahead and deleted my unregistered demo audio plugins, and now hijack and gband are working fine, but I don't see my user name in the menu bar, and so can't switch users without logging out.

Moral and ethical beratings aside (if you can find it in your heart to spare me the vindication) -- does anybody know how I can get my user name back up on the menu bar? What sort of files or preferences I need to reinstall?

Oh, and beware ilok tiger reset. It has forever called me to task on how reckless I've gotten with my super little machine. (& it seems I've got myself embroiled in a self-fulfilling prophecy.)

In System Preferences, under Accounts, open the padlock thingy and click on Login Options. Make sure that Enable Fast User Switching is checked. If it is, try flipping through the View As: menu to see if it joggles your menu bar back to life.

And don't mess with Digidesign :)

ilok Tiger reset 0.3.2... need help

Hi everyone,

I would like to use ilok tiger reset to reset my "Waves Audio plugins". I get an error message that says : "The variable okuser is not defined. (-2753)" and in the ilok window "!error 1: ditto: unrecognized flag -norsrc".

I dont know if its because I have fragmented my hard drive in two (I've got one only to run my audio softwares and another one for everything else: Internet, chat, video etc...). Maybe splitting the hard drive in two parts makes it impossible for ilok tiger to reset the entire hard drive.. or maybe it is something in my "preference" panel.... I dont know.

Can someone tell me what to do?

Thanks for your help!!
Kim
