i need to recover the camera roll i backed up to iCloud... but i do not have a free iDevice to restore it to... any ideas? can i use one of my existing personal devices to restore the camera roll to? i dont want to wipe out one of my personal devices to just obtain my lost camera roll...

here's the long story...
I had hundreds of screen captures of technical reference data organized into folders in my corporate ipad, in anticipation of a corporate ipad swap, I backed up its data to iCloud (allowed with the old MDM profile).

i was issued the new iPad, but for security reasons i cannot restore my old backup to the new device, understandable.

i would like to at least access all those organized screen captures i backed up, then i could email them (or maybe airdrop) to my new corporate device so i dont have to go through thousands of pages and re-do everything.

the only thing i can think of is for me to find an un-used ipad somewhere like an old original ipad or something, restore that device from the icloud backup, then email all the photos to myself, tedious :(

can you guys think of any other ideas? i see services online like "iphonebackupextractor" but would be really leery to do something like that...

I found this http://www.imobie.com/phonerescue/

But it isn't free. Up to you whether you trust them or not to pass through your apple ID and password. Other wise do an itunes backup of one of your devices, restore the icloud backup and copy off your photos and then restore the itunes backup

thanks stuke,
that site is like the iphone back up extractor website...
theres no sensitive data associated with the icloud account as it was for work purposes only. i think your right, the only way would be to back up a personal device, restore that device with my old icloud back up, email the camera roll, then restore it again... cumbersome.

or find an old unused device and just use that

sucks i cant get my old camera roll onto my new corporate device. lesson learned.

Maybe Photostream has most of all of them? You can try that. If you had Photostream activated on a PC or MAC then it should have a copy too. Or iCloud Photo which is accessible via iCloud.com and you could download from there.

Not at all sure if this would work but SanDisk makes a flash drive that now plugs into Apple devices such as an iPad. Maybe you can use one to download onto it. Just a thought. Good luck.

if i had an old iphone laying around could i restore the icloud backup from the old ipad to the iphone to get access to my old stuff?

just a follow up...
thanks for all the ideas here.
i used an old ipad one, restored it from the cloud back up, recovered the photos and emailed all 250 plus, 5 at time lol to my new device. tedious but it worked... :)

thanks again for the help :apple:
