If you mean the Sidebar in Finder and the entries under Favorites, hold down the COMMAND/CMD key (left of Spacebar) and drag the item off.

Unless you mean something else entirely:

To edit your thread title to a descriptive one, to get a knowledgable audience and help making the thread easier to find for people looking for the same information, just click on the [IMG] button on the bottom right of your original post and then click the [IMG] button below your message.

It helps if you provide a little information, such as:

What year and model Mac are you using?
What version of Mac OS X are you running?
What application and version are you referring to?
What toolbar are you referring to?

Safari > Menu Bar > Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Collections (on the left) > Bookmarks Bar > Popular (folder on the right) > expand that folder > select bookmark you want to delete> Backspace / right-click > delete.

PS: Just found that by trying.

That link does not work anymore, sadly. Most people just cry.

I meant in another way, meaning, most people do not click on it anymore, otherwise we would have seen a change. Yeah, change. Mitt Romney must be proud.

Gotcha. I'm guessing many haven't seen it.
