As mentioned in another thread, I've water damaged my 3GS iPhone (I'm still working on fixing it, don't worry).
I last backed it up with iTunes 2 years ago - I can see the backup in the MobileSync folder, but not in iTunes.
I've now just acquired another 3GS , which I want to restore my 2014 back up to (ie completely wipe the 'newer' device with a clone of my original device).
In iTunes, however, when I go to 'Restore Backup...' iTunes doesn't see my 2014 backup.
Am I looking in the wrong place - should it be Restore iPhone? Will I get to choose to restore the 'new' phone to my 2014 backup that way?
BTW my original phone had a completely different name. When I first plugged the 'new' 3GS into my Mac tonight it has auto set up and given it a totally different name.
