Hello, I have an eMac 1 ghz (ATI model) that has the standard 256 mb. It takes SDRAM 133, 168 pin.

Apple sells a 512 mb upgrade for $200.

Kingston sells a 512 mb upgrade for $165.

Pricewatch.com lists 512 mb OEM (?) for as little as $33. One webpage that had a $33 module listed extensive warnings about the memory and said it could cause your computer to crash.

I don't care what brand the memory is, but I just want to get a 512 mb module that won't crash my computer for the least possible money. I could afford the $165, but it is a stretch on a student/part time video clerk's budget. Any suggestions? Thank you

Better yet, get Crucial RAM from Newegg here. It's $103.99 with shipping ( with FREE pen! :p ). Or get it from OWC here. $91.75 + shipping. Both guaranteed compatible.
