Whew. So I finally got an external hard drive and now I can use time machine.

However, first I wish to back up my computer and then reinstall leopard through erase and install. (Although I got the up to date disc, so I will be reinstalling Tiger, then Leopard...right?)

How would I go about this?

Would I first let time machine index my computer, then just proceed with the reinstall of the OS? Or is there another way to go about this?

Can someone guide me to truly wipe my internal MBP hard drive clean and start again from factory settings?

Thanks
