hey guys...i have a 2nd gen ipod touch...32 gb

i am having trouble syncing movies to my ipod. i downloaded these movies from bit torrent, not itunes. most files are in .avi format.

im having 2 seperate problems. first, some movies do not even show up in itunes when i go to add them. secondly, the movies that do show up that i need to convert for the ipod i have left to convert for almost 2 days and the status bar barely moved.

i know i need a program to convert these files but the problem is i have windows vista, not a mac (i know...i knoww....) so does anyone know a free program i could use for windows??

also...what could be the reason for unconverted movies not showing up in itunes

thanks a lot

I have windows vista and I use "handbrake".
On the presets I choose the iPod/iPhone setting. Give that a try and see what you come up with.

I am not sure if videora works with vista but videora is a free video converter, also .avi is not compatible with itunes, all the videos for itunes and ipod must be in .mp4 or .m4v format

I know how you feel, it confused me at first too.

The destination is where do you want the file to save? What I did on my computer was make a new folder on my computer called "Touch Videos" and I save them there.

The source is where are you trying to get the video from to convert to iPod format. Mine is usually from my "E" drive which is my DVD drive.

Here are some really good links to walk you through: (the first 3 are separte links step 1, step 2, and step 3. Try to read all 3 links).

Listen and listen close.

Go to Zamzar.net (free AWESOME file converter) and at the bottom click the tab with Download Videos. Next put in the information, and send it to your email. Easy!

Next when you get the file sent to your email download it and put it in whatever file you have for videos. Next when you're syncing your iTouch go to videos tab and click the sync button and all your videos will come true!!!!
