Help! (The 3 folders I had on my desktop are gone!)

The 3 folders I had on my desktop are gone! I searched them using all means but the computer can't find them...I checked recently deleted items as well, and, not there. Whats wrong?!

Nope. Nothing changed, all I was doing was a general restart. Thats it. No renaming or moving of anything. Or any downloading for that matter.

And you're sure you're in the correct account? (if more than one exists)

Did you try a reboot?
Do you use Time Machine?

Hey guys, sorry I didnt reply for a while, I have been away.

I was able to grab the files I had fortunately remembered to back up to an external drive. Still no sign of the others, but I am safe. Thanks!

In the future, try clicking the apple menu, "Force Quit", and select "Finder" in the list. It won't quit finder, just relaunch, but that's what you want.

I had folders suddenly vanish on me before, and doing that brought them back. Some odd glitch I guess.
