So i have 4th gen touch thats been on its last legs for a while now and it finally gave out. The the screen comes on but does not register touch at all and its locked with a pass code so i was hoping there was a way to get around it to back up my notes, pictures, and game data since it hasnt been backed up for over a month. Any help would be appreciated

On another note, im trying to decide on a replacement, is a refurbished 32 gig 5th gen worth it right now? I know no one knows for sure but are there any rumors out there pointing towards an update this fall?

Is it set to back up to iTunes or iCloud?

If it is set to back up to iTunes, you should just be able to plug it in to the computer to get it to back up. Even if it's also set for WiFi sync.

If it's set for iCloud, wouldn't plugging it in to power get it to back stuff up? I know when I use the WiFi option for iTunes, whenever I plug mine in to charge, it syncs to iTunes (preusming the computer is awake).

That is odd. My iPod touch doesn't have an issue like that. Mine is on iOS 5 since it is a 3rd gen unit.

Is your laptop where you have done the other backups? If not you should try the system where your iPod has been backed up previously.
