iPod HELP - Transfer library from ipod to new G5

Just got a G5. I want to transfer my ipod library to itunes in the new computer. When I plug the ipod in the usb port I can see my music catalog once I elect not to overwrite the ipod but cannot access (library is grey) Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
