Ok, so we have a baby due any day now and so I am desperately (and unsucessfully) trying to figure out how to transfer a playlist, as a playlist, from my MacBook Pro to my Iphone 6.

I have a macbook pro running os 10.10,3 Yosemite, and running Itunes 12.1.2.27 . And a fully updated Iphone 6.

I do not subscribe to Itunes match.

I have created a playlist in Itunes to be played during labor and birth. But when I try to add it to my Iphone (plugged in via USB, by dragging and droppoing the file to my Iphone, all it does is add the songs to my music library on the phone.

How do I actually transfer it as an existing playlist? (it's a substantial size, and I really don't have time or energy to go through the process of creating the playlist, for a second time, on the much more akward platform of my Iphone.

ah thanks- worked perfectly. Quite easy- once you actually know where to look.

And a note for others- when I clicked on "sync music" it threw up a dire warning that music, tv shows, movies etc etc might be deleted. But I'm guessing that's only if you then choose to sync the entire library, rather then selected items.

If you sync a second time using a second playlist, it will delete songs from the first sync that aren't on the second playlist.

Because iTunes only allows user to transfer music and videos to iPhone from ONLY ONE playlist. If you use iPad or iPod, you can copy from multiple playlists.
