I keep getting this error when trying to reinstall the OS from Mac’s server.

They said it’s hardware related. I’m trying to download it from the apple servers using disc utility and it won’t take it.

OP:

Are you trying to create a bootable USB flash drive?
If so, I suggest you try something called "Mist" to download the OS installer and create the flashdrive in one integrated operation:
You want the ".dmg" file from this page.

You'll need a flashdrive of either 16gb or 32gb in size.
Not sure if 16gb works, but 32gb (or larger) will.

Which mac model is it?
If it's old, like 2010, 2011 mac, then this might be the thing with Apple discontinuing old macs by not letting their installers work on old models. There's an easy solution, though, that involves using a usb bootable installer and setting back the clock. I had this with a MBP 2010.
