Hi all,

I installed LogMeIn for Mac and I thought I got rid of it using AppCleaner.

However, in the menu bar at the top where you find your battery and wifi signal it still has the logmein icon there.

How do I get rid of that? I press command and drag off but that doesn't work. I search in spotlight logmein but nothing comes up.

In most cases, app removal software like AppCleaner doesn't do a thorough job of finding and removing files/folders related to deleted apps. For more information, read this. If you just want to delete the app, drag the .app file to the trash. No other software needed. If you want to completely remove all associated files/folders, no removal apps will do the job.

The most effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:

The thing is, is that there are no traces of any logmein folders, apps or files anywhere on finder. The icon is still at the top of the menu bar.

I quit process of the logmein app on activity monitor nothing happens. I try force quitting it and still nothing happens. The logmein process will not disappear from the my process tab.

It says this under "open files and ports" on activity monitor.

/Library/Application Support/LogMeIn/bin/LogMeInGUI.app/Contents/MacOS/LogMeInGUI

I go to library/apps support/

But there is no LogMeIn folder.

Skip that and continue with the rest of the steps. After step 7, post a screen shot. I guarantee that if you follow the instructions I posted, you'll get rid of it.

Nothing under finder as "LogMein". Neither on All files or on Mac.

You sir = Legend!

Thank you so much!

It's gone finally. Again, thank you.

I'm sorry to bump this old thread but I cannot for the life of me get this stupid program off my menu bar. I did exactly what the steps said to do, yet every time I kill the program it just keeps popping back up. I have no traces of LogMeIn on my computer at all.

I have no idea why it keeps coming back after I force quit it. Any help guys? It's driving me absolutely crazy. (Running 10.8.2 if that means anything)

Complete steps 1-7 of those instructions, then take a screen shot of your Finder window and post it.

Great help thread to fix a very annoying thing. I can't stand when you delete a program and you KNOW that it left something behind still nested somewhere on your HDD.

Instead of all those stupid iOS features they should have implemented a serious app delete function.
