Other Help - Unable to restore Microsoft Authenticator to new iPhone 12 Pro Max

Hey all,

I've just got my 12 PM and I'm restoring from an iCloud backup, but when I open MS Authenticator, it asks me to set up my account from scratch. 😳

There is an option in MS authentication to back up your data to iCloud. If that wasn’t enabled then I don’t believe it will transfer your data from one phone to another.

And, like me, you might of missed where it says something along the lines of restore from backup right at the bottom of the app. I missed it when I set mine up yesterday. If it’s not there, uninstall the app, reinstall the app and open it again and see if you get the option to restore. Of course if you’re old set up hadn’t backed up then this won’t work anyway

Delete the profile from the authenticator app on your phone, log into your Microsoft account, delete the "token" for your previous phone there, and "add" a new profile for your new phone. You will be prompted to scan a QR code on the Microsoft website with your phone, and it will create the new profile on your phone.
