I'm absolutely 100% sure you're tired of seeing these help me, I can't do this messages, but I have another one for you.

Anyways, I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3.3. I use it with a Turbo SIM and need to preserve my baseband to run iOS 5. I would like to upgrade to 5.0.1.
I've followed numerous tutorials online, and the part where I always get stuck is introducing the ISPW of iOS 5.0.1 to Redsn0w. Redsn0w always comes back saying the firmware is unsupported
Tutorials like this say to just point redsnow to iOS 5.0, but if I do, iTunes won't restore from it as it's not the newest version of iOS.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT- I know there is another thread on this, but as far as I can tell it does not properly address iOS 5.0.1 for my scenario.

1st. Do you have SHSH blobs for OS5? if not you can't upgrade to OS5 because Apple stops signing it. That the reason you received error from Itunes. Run TU and see what blobs you have.
2nd. If you want to upgrade to 5.0.1 while preserving its baseband, you can by using redsn0w to create no baseband fw and restore to to. However, check with Gevey or Applenberry to see if their sim work on 5.0.1. I saw lot of posts that it doesn't work.

By the way, the link you provide is old link and it was true back in 10/14. It is no longer apply base on my 1st point above.

On a side note, I don't need to upgrade to iOS 5 if I could get my bloody internet to work! Currently, the Edge symbol does not show up, and the menu to edit the information for the network, mms, tethering, ect does not come up. Basically, I have no internet. Pictures are attached.
It works fine on my original iPhone with iOS 3 and this sim so I don't know why it doesn't work here.
In regards to the blobs, this is what I have; I have no idea what this means:

You have blobs for 4.3.3 & 4.3.5, so you can't go to OS5.

Anyway, try the following and see if it fix your problem;

1. Open Cydia.
2. Manage/source/edit/add
Cydia.pushfix.info

Add source.

3. pushfix.info/T-Mobile US MMS fix

Then,
4. Setting/general/network/cellular Data network/MMS:

APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message size:
MMS UA Prof URL:

Thanks for the info, but it's pretty much the same as before, except now the little E appears in the top. There's still not the area in network where I can change my settings.
Is there any way to restore my phone to 4.3.3 since I have the blobs?
I think that might solve the issue here.

Yes, you can restore your phone to 4.3.3. Make sure you have TU's TSS server running while restoring it.

I'm sorry, but after googling I can only find a tutorial for Windows.
Where can I get the TSS Server and do you know of a good tutorial for restoring the phone?

OK, I am currently doing that, but now I get iTunes restore error 1. I'm using one of my MacBook Pro's two usb ports, without any hub and a standard iPhone sync cable.

Use tiny umbrella to exit recovery to see if it boot up normally.

Nope, it just hangs at the recovery screen forever. I've tried both 4.3.5 and 3.3 now.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Currently I
Put the phone in DFU mode
wait for iTunes to open, click OK on the recovery mode notice, and then select restore while holding down the option key.
I select my 4.3.3 or 3.5 in the window, press OK, and wait for iTunes to work. My iPhone's progress bar gets almost complete and then when iTunes is nearly done verifying it always fails with error 1.

Did you have tiny umbrella's TSS server running while restore? I did not see that happening here.
