I upgraded my iphone 4 to 4.0.2, and now I lost my JB and unlock.

Can someone help me think of any ideas on how to downgrade it back to 4.0.1?

Is there any promising news to when a JB solution will be released for 4.0.2?

Am I screwed? Please help.

Do you know if you stored your SHSH blobs? Try searching before posting?

I'm pretty sure I didn't. Will I just have to wait for the dev team?

Pretty much, need to wait for a new JB for 4.0.2

Just as side not, if you are Jailbroken/Unlock, never upgrade using iTunes. Wait, read forums and the dev teams website for instructions.

Thanks.

Are there any speculations as to when a new JB will be released for 4.0.2?

There won't be a jailbreak for 4.0.2. It'd be a waste of an exploit just for people who stupidly upgraded without an SHSH on file. You'll have to wait for 4.1

And then I also forgot to mention there might not be a unlock available right away, if ever. Never upgrade.

Again did you query cydia to see if your SHSH was saved?

Yes, if Apple is still signing 4.0.1, then you should be able to downgrade. Please make sure you do a backup 1st. Also make sure you download the 4.0.1 ipsw file and use shift Restore option to restore it.
And last don't forget to save you SHSH blobs once you restore it to 4.0.1 using Tiny Umbrella. You may be still able to save your SHSH now also, since i don't have a iPhone4 not 100% sure about it. Just did for 3G yesterday for my buddy but the 3g was restored to 3.1.3.

When I try to shift - restore, it gives me an error saying "iphone could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible"

should i downgrade itunes?

I restored it, but i got a 1004 error, and now I get the recovery mode screen on my iphone...

Use Tiny Umbrella and click option on right side "Kick Device out of recovery mode" and it will reboot fine..

according to tinyumbrella, i have 4.0.1 installed.

however, i can't get off the slide for emergency screen...
