Hi guys! I'm thinking about upgrading my MacBook Pro 13" memory to 8GB but, I wondering if I'll see a difference in speed. Any thoughts and advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Open Activity Monitor and select the System Memory tab.

Check the numbers for Page Ins/Page Outs/Swap used. If they are zero you do not need more RAM, if they are in the hundreds of MB or into the GB depending upon your uptime then an upgrade will definitely be of benefit. 8 GB is reasonably inexpensive so you might want to just do it either way.

To clarify, page ins can be as much as you want, it will likely be several GB, however page outs is the number to watch. If it's much north of 200MB, I'd consider the upgrade, especially with current RAM prices.

Thanks! Please tell how to open the Activity Monitor. Thanks again!
