Help (video converting)

ok i have always had this problem with video converting
i have a music video encoded in divx
i want to convert into x264
what would the equivalent bitrate be of a 5mb divx video in x264 keeping everything the same ie resolution

i would start by changing the Divx extension to Avi - make sure perrian is installed and then use QT pro to encode to what ever you like

i hope thats a legal Music vid you have there from an up and coming band?

recorded from my tuner

actually i just want to know the equivalent bitrate in x.264 from divx
i dont want to convert into a higher bitrate than i need to because i will lose quality
also it will take up more space on my hard drive
seriously

5120kb/s in divx= , , , ,kb/s in x.264
keeping all the variables the same

You just need to set the output bit rate the same as the bit rate of input.
