My gf's new WD hdd is suddenly not recognized anymore as HDD drive. (probably a short power failure with the inverter/wind generator I'm using). Lately this happened to 2 of our other drives as well. I 'rescued' one drive. (a new enclosure did the trick).
The WD shows in Disk Utility as AppleApfsMedia but it is not activated anymore. It has 1TB capacity and there should be ca 50GB data on it but it doesn't show and is not accessible.
I ran a recovery program which discovered the missing files but it will cost me at least 50$.
Is there any possibility to activate the hdd again without formatting the drive first. (It came as NTFS but I formatted it as AFPS drive).
I am on Mojave rMB.
Any help would be appreciated.
