iPod touch Help! What is this?

i cant remove these things at the back of my ipod touch. is this because of my silicon case from capdase? how do i remove this. i tried toothpaste, and other house cleaning agents. please help. i posted a picture so you all can see this.🙁

Yup, that's just scuffed metal. Lint, dust, and dirt slowly work their way under the case and are then trapped against the body of the iPod, slowly rubbing away.

I would never put acid on my iPod. It's scuffs, don't worry, unless your trying to sell it..
