My boss' iPhone 4 Verizon got stolen and he has to get a new one. Obviously, he's up for an upgrade so he wants the 5. But he also has unlimited Internet which I dont want him to lose. Can I open a new line on his Verizon account, reserve the iPhone 5 for pickup, go and pick it up tomorrow and then switch it over to the other line with unlimited, then canceling the new line? By my calculations, it would roughly equal the same price as buying the iPhone 5 unsubsidied which you cant get reserved for next day pickup anyhow.

    This will work right?

Yes, many have done that in order not to upgrade on their line and lose the unlimited data on Verizon.

It actually seems like you'll save $50 or so unless my calculations are wrong. Can anybody else chime in if theyve done this method? Anyhow I'm now eagerly waiting for 10PM

Sigh. No phones anywhere in the LA area. I guess he's gonna have to get a 4S. Can't believe this is so crazy...
