Hi,

Suddenly a window appears constantly when I am on my main screen on my Macbook Air.
It is impossible to shut it down, the purpose of this window seem to be that I can copy/paste, share and translate texts.
It disappeares when I open up applications, it seems to be only locked to my background screen.

Does anyone know what this is and how to inactivate it?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi Viktor! Try to start by checking if there are any possibly unwanted applications installed on your device.

To remove unfamiliar applications from your "Applications" folder:
a. Open your applications folder : Click Go> Applications

b. Look for any recently-added suspicious applications and drag them to the Trash.

Odd -- I've never seen a window like that. I'm guessing it is tied to Finder somehow. (Finder is the "app" that has the menu bar when you just click on the window background, or when you have no other apps running.) There may be a feature of Finder that I've never heard of, or maybe it's some program you installed and forgot about?

Do you remember anything being done or happening just before this annoying window showed up the first time?

If you think it's some unwanted program, you could try Malwarebytes to scan your computer for free. Then Malwarebytes can be uninstalled by going to its Help-->Uninstall menu.

Actually, this happened when my girlfriend used my laptop. She says that she didn't install anything on the computer, so I guess she just activated a function on my mac. Really odd. Yeah, it must be then tied to Finder as it only shows up when I click on my background.

on the land line mr. smith.
Not normal.

You could try booting into Safe Mode, and see if it behaves differently. If the mystery box is not there in safe mode, it would point to a third-party application, Extention process.

You could also try making a new test user account, and logging in to that account. If the mystery box is not there in new user account, that would point to a user spcecific setting, preference, etc.
