Okay guys I need your help. I have a friend who just bought a new G5 running OS X (10.3.8) and he also has a G4 running OS 9. He has Final Cut Pro on the G4 running OS 9. I know I can't pull Final Cut Pro off the G4 and dump it into to OS X. Is the best way to access Final Cut Pro on the G4 by setting up the G4 in target disk mode via firewire? If so would I hold the "T" key down while I reboot the G5 or while I reboot the G4? I am trying to get this guy out of 9 and into X.

He bought an upgrade for Final Cut Pro, but the upgrade is for Final Cut Pro running in OS X and not OS 9.

It has been so long since I have used OS 9 I have forgotten where everything is.

His best bet is take his original installation media for FInal Cut Pro and install it directly on the new system, an dthen do the upgrade.

On some of the Apple products, the upgrade will install if you enter in the serialnumber of the original product as well as the new serial number when it asks for it of course.
