I just discovered an old @mac.com email address that I had, c 2005. I was able to reset the password, and tried to log into it with my new credentials (at https://appleid.apple.com). I was prompted to set up my secret questions and offered a chance to set up 2-factor authentication.
After that, I can't get anywhere with it. I cannot log into iCloud. I cannot create an Internet Account on my Mac. Every thing I try starts to work and ultimately gives me a non-specific "server error" message.
Is there any hope of being able to use this address?
