I use Adium for MSN but apparently I keep getting disconnected every few minutes and/or my contacts do not receive my messages/I can't receive theirs:( It gets very irritating after a while when I can't have a proper chat with my friends online without the chat ending in a few minutes because both of us have replied but the other party does not receive it.

On my side I get "Message could not be sent because an error with the switchboard occured" after a while, and I do not receive the messages my contacts send me too.

I am currently using a macbook pro (just bought in July 2010) with the newest OS version 10.6.4 Snow Leopard. I have tried googling this problem but apparently not many people have it and hence it's not v helpful..Really appreciate if someone could give me advice on what to do!

Thank you!

Sounds to me like a protocol change issue... The Adium developers have to fix these things on their end. I can't remember what my MSN passport is so I cannot test

I got similar issues, only with AIM and on 10.5.8 - if Adium is fully updated, then yes, you can probably narrow it down to something Microsoft has changed on their end and thus the issue is something that the developers of Adium will have to fix.

You could consider simply using the Messenger app for Mac, although it's decidedly a step down.

I'd check for ya too, but see, I've got no motherboard.

Sorry to revive an old thread. But I'm having the exact same problem for ... I don't even remember how long. Both my msn and gtalk accounts miss messages (both online and offline ones). But only the msn account would disconnect every few minutes. My network seems OK as Skype works fine and my download speed is normally 500+k/s. This is the most recent thread I can dig up on this issue, so do no one have the same problem? Anyone knows a fix? I have the latest stable version of Adium (1.4.3) and Mac OS (10.7.2).
