Help with airplay mirroring on iPad 3

I Need help with airplay mirroring on Apple TV 3 and iPad 3 I've tried everything trying to get the airplay icon to come on the iPad but nothing so can someone help me please

What iOS is running on the ATV3 & iPad3? Your home network / WiFi make/model?

The Apple TV is running 6.1 and the iPad 3 is running ios 7.1 yes this my home network the router is a netgear WNR2000
