Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I am currently working on a few projects for work.

For one of them I want to animate a logo which needs to go in at the end of the video
395_flues03h1h.jpg

I am wanting the butterfly to fly in from the right of the screen flapping its wings (while getting bigger to give the appearance it's flying in from a distance). Loop round to the right and and sit end up where it is on the above image, I would then want the text to fade in.

I was wondering someone would be able to point me in the right direction on how to achieve these effects.

At work I have access to the latest version of FCP and Adobe CS5 MC, but if anyone has any suggestions of any other software feel free to let me know as I'm sure work will pay for it if it'll make my life easier (I can only use OS X apps at work though)

Thanks In Advance,

Vel

save em as photoshop layers (one doc) and bring into After Effects. I would suggest vector e.g. Illustrator but if you plan on any odd plug-ins the vector will turn into pixel. you could also do this in FCP, just a little tougher to do.

Edit: also if you plan on flapping wings, save the butterfly as 4 layers (if possible). the head, two wings and the centre that seems to be an overlay between the two wings. Thats the part that will be a little tricky. In After Effects make sure your anchor points are dead centre to butterfly for all layers. Pre-Comp so that you can use 3D Camera.
Have fun :)

Thanks for the response,

I have done what you said above...I think. However I only created 3 layers (I wasn't bothered about have the head seperate to from the body).

I set the anchor points and then I changed the in vertical centre of the wings and placed the points as close to the body as possible.

I then changed the angle of the y axis at particular time frames. I click play and the wings do move, however it looks like they are moving the same way.
For e.g. From a birds eye view

-- (normal)
\ / (what I want it to look like)
\ \ (what it actual looks like they are doing)

I know they arent actually moving like that however it does appear that way, is there an easy way to maybe change the angle at which the image is been viewed

Thanks,

Vel
