Help with apps crashing, phone freezing, etc.

So, I've been having some problems with my phone recently. In the past few weeks it's done the thing where the apps crash on launch twice now. Also, last night I went to turn the power off and restart it, but while turning back on it froze for 15-20 minutes or so twice. I know how to fix the issue with the apps, but it's becoming a hassle now since I don't use iTunes to sync my apps, so I'd have to download everything again. I still have about a year and a half on my Applecare plan, so should I just go and get a new phone? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
