Help with BF1942

I just installed on my MBP and the EA sound and Intro music is fine. Once it gets to gameplay the sound speed seems like it doubled and everything is a high pitched squeek. I have Battlefield Vietnam installed but it doesn't happen for that. Anyone have a fix for this?
