help with buying decision

I am debating weather to get a 20" imac vs. a 23" HD display + mini.
I am an new mac user so I need you guys help. I will use the macs mainly for entertainment: music, movie, web-srufing. I would like to be able to watch HDTV on the apple monitor, also need to capacity to hook it up with my PS2 and PS3 in the future. Any advice?

The iMac does not have any video in ports for accepting signal from game consoles or cable boxes. And Apple's monitors are very limited in their connectivity.

I'd recommend a well-specced out Mac mini with a Dell monitor...lots of options for connecting those monitors to other devices. Good monitors and good prices.
