Ok, so after my extensive research lol, and fellow members on here posting advice. I have now finally decided, I am going to go ahead and get the 2026 Studio Display with nano texture and VESA mount. It will work with my Mac and my works Dell laptop. For me when I tried it I preferred the nano texture for text and documents that I use for work. Yes the XDR would be nice, but I did see haloing around text plus my works laptop won't push it over 1080P and of course we have no primes Apple will fix it, or that my works laptop will ever be made to work with it at 5K.
Anyway, this means I will need a Caldigit TS5 and the Cable Matters KVM as I know that will work fine, I hope. But if the cables what come with the Cable Matters KVM, this one here:
Are not long enough to go through my monitor arm then what ones would I need to buy? USB 4 ones or Thunderbolt ones? I will stick with Cable Matters cables too.
My plan is Studio display to KVM, then KVM direct to works laptops Thunderbolt 4 port, I am hoping the pass through charging will work and it will support the camera and speakers with my works laptop too as well as the 5K 30 or 60HZ, then the second KVM port to the Caldigit and from the Caldigit to my Mac laptop.
I know the Cable Matters KVM can be fussy with the cables it works with so any advice here is greatly appreciated, this should give me the neatest solution and fingers crossed work as I hope it will.
