iPhone 6(S)/Plus Help with Calendar Recovery

Help. I joined my husband's calendars (iCloud I'm presuming) and when I did, it wiped out all his appointments. What happened and how do we fix it?
 
If you joined multiple calendars from different accounts, I don't believe you can undo the result (re: losing appointments).
