Help with choosing a database

Hi everyone,

I'd like a simple database for my mac; I'm not fussed too much about graphics, what I want to do is be able to enter a list of herbs with varied details, and then be able to call up lists of herbs with common details, eg a particular chemical component, or property. I'm not into programming.

Any advice?
