Hi, Can anyone tell me how to do a clean install of Yosemite on an old mac mini core 2? I tried making a flash drive install disk but because the keyboard I have is bluetooth it doesn't seem to allow me to do a command+control+r at boot up to access the flash drive. This computer was my elderly parents and they need it restored to sell. Thanks

Cmd + R is for internet recovery on newer Macs, you'd want to hold down Option in order to boot into the flash drive.

Yosemite requires at a minimum a core2 duo, the core2 will not cut it.

You're thinking of the Core Duo. Only higher model 2006 model Minis had Core Duos if I'm recalling that correctly. I'm sure he's thinking of the Core 2 Duo by "Core 2".

Thanks everyone for the replies. I was finally able to get it done. Runs fine considering it has 2GB of ram. No one has even used it for years. I have plenty of up to date computers. Can't think of any use for it. Anyone have any ideas?

Put a large external disk(s) on it and use it as a whole-house TimeMachine backup NAS and iTunes server.

When using the wireless bluetooth keyboard for boot command-key sequences, press and hold the desired keys exactly when either the green light comes on (upper right corner) or you hear the start of the chime.

Glad you got it up and running. Use it as a dedicated media box or for file storage if you don't need it for everyday computing.
