I hope someone is able to lend a hand.

I prefer that when I add a new contact on one device, that it syncs to all devices, and this should be easy with iCloud. However, any time I add a new contact, it only saves the contact to the iPhone, and not to iCloud. I have tried the trick where you turn on / on Contacts in the iCloud settings panel, but that does no good. I go to the Contacts setting in main Settings, and have no option to change the default save location. This is driving me insane, and I cannot figure out how to fix it.

I have had iPhones since 3G, and this is the first thing that has befuddled me to near-tears, LOL. Have any of you experienced this, and can you please tell me how to fix this issue?

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOs 14.0.1

Thank you in advance!!

In Settings > Contacts > Accounts, do you only have your iCloud account showing there? After adding a contact, does that contact appear when you log into icloud.com on a browser? What is the other device you're using to share your Contacts via iCloud?
