help with converting excel file to iCal format

I really enjoy using iCal as my scheduling program--and recently a classmate released an excel file meant for use with outlook express. I am really a basic level mac user--and turn to the collective wisdom of the macrumors forums for help. Can someone convert this excel file to iCal?

**The original excel file wouldn't fit as an attachment--so I converted it to comma delimited text file

This is somewhat of a guess, but iCal can import Entourage data. If you have Entourage installed, it might be able to import the Excel data, then you can bring it from there to iCal.

You might also want to see if Outlook can export a vCal file, which I think is a standard exchange format.

I gave ontorauge (sp?) a chance--i couldn't get it to work. I don't have outlook.
