We are converting from an IBM to a Mac and wondering how to transfer emails and contacts from Microsoft Outlook program to the program that is on Mac Book Pro.

Please help, we are going overseas and need to do this asap.

I thought that i could use an external hard drive to send the information between the computers???????

Ahhhh!!! hard 🙂

As far as your contacts are concerned, in Outlook you should beable to export your contacts as a .VCF file... which you can reimport into any mail application without too much fuss. You could transfer this data via any means.. most friendly would be a USB memory stick.

For your emails... someone else here will need to help you, I don't wanna give you the wrong advice.

After being a PC guy for almost 20 years I had to deal with the same issue when I got my Mac Pro in February. I found a GREAT little program that moved everything from Outlook to Entourage without a glitch and it's only $10! It works with Apple Mail, Entourage, Mailsmith, PowerMail, iCal.
