Hi, i have a eMac G4 733mhz 256mb sdr, the white one with crt.

After the computer have been run for some hours, the screen is out of sync, eg. it "drops" to half the screen.

What could be wrong? i have checked every cable inside(i think) but i do not know what to look for.

If the screen is lost, is it possible to remove the mb and use an ext. monitor only? does the eMac recognize an ext. monitor by itself?

thanks in advance, -ragc

sounds like a graphics chip overheating to me.
I would check that the fans on the chips are working properly and that they are seated snugly on the chips.

I that doesn't work I think you are screwed. I am sure if you are handy you could rewire the connection on the mobo so that it would work with an external display.
