I have an early 2008 Macbook Pro with the regular DVI output. I really want to set up another monitor with my MBP to create a dual monitor set-up. However, I've been trying to do some reasearch, but most of it pertains to the newer MBPs with the mini DVI output.

So I was just wondering what I cables I would need to get the best resolution out of a monitor. I believe it's the DVI to VGA cable I would need for it, but I would like your guyses input.

Also, I was hoping to also use this monitor as a TV so I'm not sure if that affects anything...

As of now I have one monitor that I've seen that looks like it would work but I'm not positive: here it is http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-P2370HD-23-Inch-1080p-Monitor/dp/B002DHS398/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Thanks in advanced!

vga sucks. In this day and age, if you are purchasing new hardware you should be able to pickup an all digital solution for bargain basement prices.
