Help with FLV files (watching & converting)

Just started downloading FLV videos off Youtube that I now want to burn onto a DVD. Thing is, I'm so new to this I have no idea how to go about it.

With my PC, I would download the videos using Replay.

After the videos were downloaded, I then used Super to convert from FLV to MPEG to burn to a DVD.

Neither of these two apps are for Mac so do I proceed?

To view my FLV files, I think I'm going to need to download VLC.
Is that correct?

What can I use to convert from FLV to MPEG on Mac?

To play FLV in QuickTime you can use Perian. To convert FLV files to MP4 you can use Handbrake. Hope it helps 🙂

spookylars is right on, Perian is a quicktime plug in, so after you install it the FLVs should open in Quicktime. Or VLC can play them too.

I'm downloading handbrake now but wanna ask...

I have Toast 10... Toast won't convert flv to mpeg, right?
I don't see a convertor so I"m guessing not.

How do I find streamclip?

Toast Titanium > Convert > Video Files?

I tried that route, converted FLV to MPEG.

So if Toast can do this, then I don't need handbrake?
