I installed a bunch of fonts a short while ago. Maybe 1000 or so? I was just playing around, but now all sorts of things are screwed up - specifically any program that builds a visual font menu (Microsoft Office programs specifically) take REALLY long to start up (and almost freeze any time I open the font menu).

How do I revert my computer's fonts to the original ones???

I find the MS fonts suck and mess up the Font Book.

First suggestion I would make is open Font Book and check for conflicts or double entries. Delete any problem fonts that are incomplete. Delete any fonts you will never use.

if none of this works, as was suggested, delete all the fonts you installed and perhaps start over....

I would like to remove the fonts I installed - but I don't know which ones those are. There are over 1000 fonts now, and sorting by modified date doesn't work for this.

I could just delete them all, but how would I get the right ones back?

When you say start over, do you mean a fresh install - or is there a way to just revert my fontbook to it's default setting?
